This week was a bit of a disaster in terms of planning and execution. The plan was blown a bit to pieces by my work schedule and then completely imploded by the weather with Storm Ciara rolling in at the end of the week.
I didn’t get out for the first run on Tuesday like I had planned so I decided to do that run on Wednesday. All in that first run was pretty good. It was a bit quicker than I was supposed to be. I managed 3.85 miles in 35 minutes at 9:06 per mile.
I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to get out on Thursday with how work had gone and looking at the weather ahead I realised that if I was going to be able to get all the runs in I was going to need to do a double run day on Friday. I decided to do the 35 minute run before work and it went ok, I lost track of the time on my watch and ended up running for 38 minutes 33 seconds, covering 4.15 miles at 9:17 per mile. After work and a post work nap I went out and ran 50 minutes for 5.41 miles at 9:14 per mile. That run felt really good.
With the weather forecast for Sunday I decided it was most sensible to get out for my long run early on Saturday before the strong winds started to roll in. I woke up with a bad head and achy body but decided to go for the run anyway. The start of the run felt comfortable and good, however that quickly went downhill. I only managed 25 minutes and 2.67 miles before my body was begging me to stop.
Hopefully next week will be better but looking at the snow and wind forecasted for the week I’m not feeling great about it.
